Aomi represented our school with distinction at this year’s SISAC Division 1 Tennis Competition, hosted at Concordia. She entered the tournament fully aware of the high level of competition awaiting her and rose to the challenge with determination and composure.
Aomi began her campaign with an impressive 4-1 victory over SAS Pudong, followed by a commanding 4-0 win against SSIS Shenzhen. These strong performances set up a decisive third-round encounter against an equally unbeaten Concordia opponent. In a format where every point counts, a single break of serve proved crucial. Despite creating several opportunities to break back, Aomi narrowly lost 4-2 in a tightly contested match.
Going into her final match, Aomi knew that a win would secure a second-place finish overall. She started with great intensity, racing to a 3-0 lead against her Dulwich Pudong opponent. Although her opponent managed to hold serve once, Aomi maintained her focus to close out a confident 4-1 victory.
This outstanding result demonstrates remarkable progression in Aomi’s tennis journey. Having finished 3rd in last year’s Division 2 competition, she has demonstrated exceptional growth, dedication, and resilience. Her silver-medal finish is a testament to the countless hours she has devoted to refining her skills. We are incredibly proud of Aomi’s achievement and have every confidence that she will continue to excel - perhaps even claiming the top spot next year.
